Tony Green

Tony Green is Managing Partner of The Pinehills, a national award winning mixed-use community in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

The Pinehills is larger than the town of Belmont, Massachusetts, with fewer homes and more open space. The principle that guides the siting of The Pinehills’ nearly 3000 homes, three golf courses, and 1.3 million square feet of commercial and retail space is one that preserves the land that is appropriate for preservation, while building on the best land to maximize the views and enjoyment of that preserved land.

Green graduated from Harvard College and has a master’s degree in planning from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. He is past chairman of the Neighborhood Development Council at the Urban Land Institute, and past Chairman of the National Council of the Housing Industry, National Sales and Marketing Council as well as the Institute of Residential Marketing at the National Association of Home Builders.

During his 17 years at The Green Company, the company was honored with the National Housing and Quality Award from Professional Builder, America’s Best Builder Award from Builder Magazine, and more Builders Choice Awards than any other builder in the country.

In addition to The Pinehills, Green is also a partner with New England Development in downtown Newburyport. He has been a frequent lecturer at MIT, Harvard, the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the EPA among others.

The Pinehills has recently been honored as the best Mixed Use Community in the country by Builder Magazine for 2006. The Pinehills has also been recognized by the Environmental Business Council for Innovation and by the National Association of Homebuilders as Master-Planned Community of the Year for 2003, Best Smart Growth Community in 2005 and by Builder Magazine for the Best Site Plan in the country in 2002.
