Richard Georgi is the founder and managing partner of Grove International Partners, an investment advisor to global real estate private equity funds. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Singapore, Grove invests in real estate-related private equity through operating platforms around the world. Mr Georgi also serves as the Chairman of the Grove Investment Committees. Mr Georgi began his career at Goldman Sachs where he spent nine years including five as head of the Whitehall Real Estate Fund in Europe. In 1999, Mr Georgi partnered with George Soros to create Soros Real Estate Partners (SREP) and raised the $1 billion fund, Soros Real Estate Investors, C.V. ("SREI"). In 2004, SREP became Grove International Partners ("Grove") which subsequently raised a $1.5 billion global fund, Cypress Grove International ("CGI") with Soros as one of the largest investors. Most recently, in 2007, the team raised its third fund, the $2 billion Redwood Grove International ("RGI") fund. In total, Grove has invested in 22 businesses in 10 countries controlling over $14 billion in total assets. Mr Georgi is an honors graduate of both Williams College and Harvard Business School. He is an active member of the national and international boards of Big Brother Big Sister of America.
