Neil Fairman

Neil Fairman is the president and owner of The Plaza Group, he began his real estate career in Montreal, Canada 25 years ago and relocated to Miami in 1988. Mr. Fairman developed the recently completed Ocean Palms on Hollywood Beach, a luxury ocean front 240-unit, 42 story condominium, where he paved the way for a successful re-zoning of the site and Hollywood’s first luxury high-rise development in the last quarter century. Another of The Plaza Group’s residential successes is The Palms on Fort Lauderdale Beach, a luxurious condominium enclave of two 32-story towers with 196 units, seven multi level private oceanfront villas and the 20,000 square-foot Palms Club all with the architectural flavor of the Italian Riviera. The Plaza Group was twice recognized as the largest condominium developer in Broward County in 1999 and 2001. In addition to the multifamily residential developments, The Plaza Group and its affiliates under Mr. Fairman’s direction have developed notable projects such as the 200,000 square-foot headquarters for the Miami-Dade County School Board; including multi level parking facilities and two adjoining sky bridges. An example of Plaza’s retail developments is the 300,000 square-foot Lantana & Jog Retail Center in Palm Beach County. Retail development tenants have included Kmart, Target, Winn Dixie and Rite Aid. Prior to the 1989 inception of The Plaza Group in Florida, Mr. Fairman developed multifamily residential projects and a 300 room condo-hotel project in Canada. Mr. Fairman, a native of Canada pursued his undergraduate studies in Montreal at Loyola College, Sir Georges Williams University, and executive studies at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design’s Advanced Management Development program. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute, South Florida and Caribbean Council, and Co-Chairman of the Urban Land Institute Sponsorship Committee for the Annual International Fall Meeting being held in Miami in October 2008. He also serves as a member of the Harvard Real Estate International Advisory Board and is a past board member of the Hollywood Business Council.
