Kenneth G. Bartels

Kenneth G. Bartels is President and Chief Executive Officer of Paxton Properties Incorporated, a real estate investment firm based in New York with a concentration on center-city office buildings in the United States and Europe. Ken was formerly Head of Global Real Estate Equities for Citicorp and Principal, Morgan Stanley Realty Incorporated and Morgan Stanley International Incorporated. Ken is Chairman of Whatif Productions, Belmont, Massachusetts, a computer software company; a member of the Boards of Directors of Kionix, Inc., a microelectro manufacturing company, and Vybion, Inc., a biotech company, both of Ithaca, New York; a Member of the Supervisory Board of IC Immobilien Holding AG, Unterscheißheim, Germany, a publicly-traded real estate services company; Chair of the Board of Trustees of World Learning, Brattleboro, Vermont, which runs summer and semester abroad programs and a graduate school, and does development and education work in the developing world; Chairman of Youth Service America, Washington, D.C., which encourages young people worldwide to do community service; Vice President of Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Sabre Foundation, which works to build free institutions and to examine the ideals that sustain them; Co-Chair of his College and Business School classes; a member of the Dean’s Council, the Harvard Graduate School of Education; a member of the Committee on University Resources at Harvard; and Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the Classic Stage Company, New York, New York. Ken is a graduate of Choate School, and has an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Ken is married to Jane F. Condon, a comedian. Ken and Jane have two children, Todd (25), Harvard College ’06, M. Phil. ’07 University of Cambridge, U.K., now an actor in New York, and McDonald (22), Harvard College ‘09.
