Joseph W. O'Connor

Joseph O’Connor is the President and Founder of Singleton Associates, a real estate development firm based in Boston. O'Connor has been active in real estate since 1970 and is recognized as one of the investment community's leaders in the field of real estate investing. Singleton Associates, which he established in 1997, provides real estate counseling services as well as investment capital for commercial and residential projects throughout the United States. Prior to establishing Singleton Associates, O'Connor was co-chairman of AEW Capital Management, a real estate investment company specializing in the development and management of commercial and residential projects. From 1981 through 1996, he served as Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Copley Real Estate Advisors, one of the nation's largest real estate investment advisory firms. His numerous civic activities include serving as a Board Member of Harvard University's Harvard Management Corporation, as well as a Trustee and Chairman of the Building and Design Committee for the New England Aquarium. O'Connor also served as the Chairman of the Urban Land Institute from 2001 to 2003. He received his Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Cross College.
